The world of Wayward Strand
In the world of Wayward Strand, time flies for everyone. Characters move on with their lives without waiting for you to interact with them. In Wayward Strand's unique narrative structure, the stories of over a dozen characters unfold around you in real-time as you roam freely. Choose which story you want to be part of by following people, engaging in conversations and exploring the hospital. There are over a dozen characters that live or work on the airship that you can meet and spend time with. Everyone goes about their lives while you explore.
Different characters
Some are charming, some eccentric, some rude - everyone has their own desires, goals and aspirations. Each character moves and acts of their own accord, at their own pace, on their own timeline. They share news with you, argue, joke, gossip or chat with Casey when she comes over. With each playthrough, you have the opportunity to discover something you haven't seen before - what you missed the first time you might see the second, third, or fifth time. When someone passes Casey in the corridor, you can follow them to see where they're going and what they're up to, and overhear their conversations.
A retreat
You can also go to your room or talk to the others: ask questions, start discussions or participate in ongoing conversations. As you spend time with specific characters, you'll discover new storylines, locations, revelations, and resolutions. As a journalist for your high school newspaper, Casey records events and information in her notebook. Use Casey's notebook to delve deeper into people's stories, make new discoveries and solve puzzles.
