The developer SiCzech Arts presents the game Velvetist. The story follows the hero Luka Vollek, who wades through systematic socialist propaganda in a port city occupied by the Soviet Union at the time of the Iron Curtain. Everyone knows the system has long since stopped working, but attempts are still being made to service it.
Luka comes into conflict with the law and the authorities and soon discovers the underbelly of society, the dissenting and underground communities. Over time he falls deeper and deeper into the underground, takes drugs, smuggles weapons and participates in the undermining of the system. He works with extremist resistance fighters and expects the revolution to come every day. However, the revolution becomes velvety and nothing goes as he dreamed - the chaos of capitalism is coming.
The main gameplay elements include driving around town and shootouts linked by cinematics that tell the story. You will also come across simple puzzles, search for objects, chase enemies, run away, pull boxes, have conversations and meet new people. The missions consist of these basic elements, but each has its own characteristics and the player will never be bored!
Action alternates with exploring the world and telling the stories.
