The Vikings are not allowed to go to Valhalla. The fault is Odin's son Leko, who prefers to build things instead of getting drunk and flogging.

Since Leko got so out of joint, he was banished to earth in no time at all. He denies the arriving Vikings entry to Valhalla because they are said to have too little honor. Leko wants to change this and help them to be able to participate in Odin's feast in the afterlife again.
In Valhalla Hills there are no cutscenes, no red thread and no dialogue. The beginning of each round begins at the foot of a mountain on which there is a portal. This portal is supposed to guide the Vikings to Valhalla. The aim of the game is to send the Vikings through the magic gate. Unfortunately, there is not Valhalla there, but just another mountain.
The map at Valhalla Hills is randomly generated. Opponents, for example, are not happy mountain dwarfs. Again and again the goal is to climb the top of the mountain. As a reward, there are new buildings, economic chains, building blocks for the level generator. The motivation is maintained, but the activities in the game are always the same. That way Valhalla Hills becomes very monotonous.
The game is very reminiscent of Settlers 2, where you felled wood, hewn stin and forged weapons. The structure of the economic sectors is logical and understandable. The logistics system has its pitfalls. The Vikings do not take orders and act independently.
Unemployed Vikings are drafted into the fight. Overall, Valhalla Hills is aimed at experienced development strategists who have already enjoyed the Settlers Games.
Conclusion
Valhalla Hills is made very complex. The development game manages to motivate and develops unimagined potential over time. Nevertheless, it has its weaknesses, which the Viking implementation cannot make up for.
Publishing took over Daedalic Entertainment.
