The Legend of Zelda

The Zelda game Breath of the Wild was developed by Nintendo for Nintendo Switch and Wii U. The production effort for the game was enormous. Link wakes up in a shrine underground with no memories. You escape the cave first, with no kingdom and no memories. To do this, you first need equipment and weapons. After you have found what you need in the cave, you come to the light of day.

Open world in Hyriule

The open world of the new Zelda game is huge. Wide plains, forests and mountains with volcanoes invite you to be explored. Abandoned temples and snow-covered rocks beckon you into this world.

Ganon rules

After your departure into the new world, you meet an old man. He warns you that the villain Ganon wreaked havoc on Hyrule a hundred years ago. Survivors have holed up in some cities. Left's job is to end the reign of evil.

Flashbacks

The story of what happened is told in flashbacks. The past of Zelda and Ganon is revealed. Many secrets are waiting to be discovered.

The quests

You will get your first quest relatively quickly so that you do not run around completely disoriented in a huge world. These will guide you in the right direction. The Sheikah Stone that you get at the beginning shows you your quest locations. At the beginning you will find yourself on a platform where you will complete a tutorial. Then the world is open to you. You will find tons of side quests, items, secrets and fairies.

Control aids

To support you, you will get control instructions in the game every now and then, if necessary. You can get tips in villages and books lying around. But you also learn a lot yourself.

How big is the world

The answer is simple: huge. You spend hours alone on the starting plateau before you are “let loose” in the world. You will find sights, caves, enemy camps, cities and villages. Everywhere you will find small and large puzzles.

On a climbing trip

You can go on your discovery tour. To reveal the map piece by piece, you climb a tower or climb tower walls. At the same time, they serve as fast travel points and as a lookout. The Sheigah Stone has a binocular function with which you can mark towers, camps and other places. You have the option to mark them on the map yourself.

How do i travel

To get ahead you can explore everything on foot, but you will be limited by a stamina meter. Then he can no longer attack as long as the indicator has dropped. This can lead to problems when crouching on rocks and buildings. Other means of transport that you get in the course of the game provide relief. Whether with a paper plane, canvas or horse, you will find ways to get from A to B more easily. Especially the fast travel points are a blessing.

Shrines and Dungeons

In shrines you will find challenges and puzzles. You have to defeat guards, flip switches or complete other tasks. Dungeons There is no order in which you play. Unlike in previous parts, you don't have to look for a compass. You'll immediately see a map.

rewards

Do you have the Dungeons completed, you will not receive any special items at the end, but rather bonuses that, for example, increase your life bar.

battles

You can use almost anything for the fights. From the pan to the magic wand and classic sword, everything is at your disposal. Unfortunately, the weapons inventory is a bit small. In addition, the weapons you use wear out regularly. Nevertheless, there is never a shortage of weapons supplies.

Conclusion

The Legend of Zelda is simply outstanding. A huge open world, exciting stories and a solid combat system make this game one big adventure. What else could you wish for? Even puzzle fans are served and a lot of fun awaits every player. This game is just a must!
