In the second part, Van Helsing goes on the hunt for vampires again. Then the scientists came and now the military follows. General Haker is up to mischief in this part. Again he is accompanied by the ghost lady Katarina. You go into the field against General Harker to save Borgovia and the resistance. You get support from prisoner number 7, who works for you as a spy.
The quests correspond to the first part. You free occupied parts of the city, fight against monsters and machines and take down the hordes of generals.

Your decisions have consequences. For example, you either give a prison inmate 100 gold or drive them off the street. For the gold you get information about a secret level. Such choices can be found again and again as a motivating factor in Van Helsing 2. There are always funny moments in the second part. There are also allusions to well-known films and film characters. Lady Katarina scores again with her snappy comments. Skills and power-ups help in the second part. There are new skills in the skill trees that you expand with the points from leveling up.

There are some new mini-games that Van Helsing 2 brings with it. You recruit troop leaders with special skills, as well as troops and appropriate equipment. You send these out to complete orders. You can level up the troop leaders.
In addition to the story mode, you can switch to "Neverending Story". The monsters increase in strength and further character improvements can be found.
Conclusion
The second part is fun, but doesn't bring much new information. There are other villains, more skills, more crafting and some mini-games that loosen up the game. In particular, the mode for "Neverending Story" increases the motivation for the game. For hack 'n' slash fans, there is another recommended game for Van Helsing 2.
