Introduced as a compilation for the ZX Spectrum, The Collected Works was a collection that featured eleven of the best-known titles from Ultimate Play the Game in a commemorative publication. Starting with the critically acclaimed Jetpac in 1983, players could experience Jetman in good company year round with Pssst, Cookie, Atic Atac, Tranz Am, and Lunar Jetman. Next, two milestones would be recognized: Saber Wulf introduced the fearless Spectrum Explorer in its first adventure and the successor Knight Lore established the groundbreaking film technology. The isometric graphics would continue with Alien 8 before the Filmation II engine was properly experienced in both Nightshade and Gunfright. The Collected Works was a masterpiece in itself, campaigning for the legacy of Ultimate on the classic Sinclair machine.
