The Blues Brothers is a licensed adaptation of the film of the same name for the NES-System. It's a game where the developers should have put more effort into the effort put into building the arbitrary levels, optimizing the physics of the game, the mechanics of the protagonists, the designs of the enemies, and other elements.
The graphics of The Blues Brothers
The developers gave the protagonist sprite animation to give more than three colors. The gameplay of the game leaves a lot to be desired. You must crawl or crouch to get past certain sections. You have to focus on avoiding anything that moves. The only exception is platforms. But even on these, you have to keep bouncing up and down until you jump off, as many of them dissipate after a limited time.
Conclusion
Blues Brothers is a challenging game. It's extremely hard and becomes a nightmare game on the NES. Blues Brothers on NES can definitely not be recommended as a licensed game. The developers made game design choices that artificially inflate both difficulty and game duration, through platforms that the player can only spend a limited amount of time on, invincible enemies that there is no way you can attack, and remarkable precision that allows for jumping and other maneuver is required. You don't see oncoming dangers, objectives are unclear and physics are slippery. One can only say: hands off this game.
