Gomez has to save his family. You cross the Addams Family mansion and the surrounding area as Gomez is looking for his imprisoned family members. The object of the game is to free them. The family fortune was also stolen. In this game, you will put a stop to a hideous goblin, a mad scientist and a witch.

You're not just roaming the mansion with Gomez. From the start, you search the outside areas of the property. This makes the level size considerable, because you decide where you go first. Not only do you save your family, but you ensure your own survival, for example by collecting additional lives.
Gameplay
You start the game with five lives. Two heart containers are available to you as an energy bar. This means that you urgently need more energy and heart containers. You are forced to search the villa strategically. You explore selected areas to eventually face an end boss. After the boss fight you will be given a password that you can use to continue playing where you last left off. In combat you will find weapons such as swords. Shoes increase the speed of Gomez in order to overcome greater abysses.

Graphically, the game doesn't look bad for its time. The Addams Family property is brought across in the right atmosphere. There are also cute little characters and happy melodies. The game is not easy and the opponents are sometimes difficult to defeat. The freedom of gameplay is convincing. You won't get very far in the game without an expansion of your energy bar. The Addams Family is worth it as a retrogame.
