Supersizehero is a VR game where the player takes on the role of an overweight superhero who has to save the day. The game is completed with a fat suit and a Vive tracker to track abdominal movements. The player must use the extra body weight to their advantage.
The hero prevents bank robbers from reaching the bank and sends them back to prison. Dropped items increase the high score in the game.
In order to save Giant City, the player chooses 3 different outfits, each of which brings different skills with it and significantly influences the style of play.
The game was developed with the Unreal Engine 4 for the HTC Vive. In addition, the team developed three animated short films as trailers.
The developers also received the RookieAward 2019 for their project.
The project is a production by the Baden-Württemberg Film Academy and the associated animation institute.
