Harvest Moon for the PC? Not exactly, but the concept is the same with some interesting additions.
Stardew Valley
The developer Chucklefish has landed a big hit. Stardew Valley is published by 505 Games.
You inherit your grandfather's farm and get the job of running it again. You quit your office job and become a farmer in the country. As in Harvest Moon, as a farmer, you become involved in farming by tilling fields, feeding your animals, and working the land so you can work it. You can decide for yourself whether you keep animals. For example, plant crops. Go fishing, make friends, and explore the village and land that surrounds your farm. Have a romance with a villager.
The gameplay is amazingly reminiscent of Harvest Moon. In addition to tilling fields, you devote yourself to planting, fishing, and dating. You collect materials to build and improve your farm.
Stardew Valley has RPG combat elements in addition to the pawn concept. You can explore randomly generated caves where you can collect more materials. You will also fight monsters there.
The graphics are well known pixelated, as you know it from the farm simulator Harvest Moon. What the Harvest Moon game didn't have was same-sex relationships.
Conclusion
Stardew Valley is definitely a Harvest Moon clone. The similarities are amazing. The gameplay is identical with a few additions. Finally a cute farm game for the PC can only be said here. PC gamers have waited long enough for something like this. Since the real Harvestmoon games never appeared for PC, this game definitely hits the bull's eye and is highly recommended. The game is just addicting.
