Fight for survival as a badger: It is about Shelter. Your goal is survival. Four little and hungry badger cubs want something to eat. One of the kids doesn't look healthy and needs something to pick up. An onion is just right here. Hunger and death await you in the wilderness.
To keep alive
The little badgers have to survive until the end. The adversities are forest fires, floods, birds of prey and hunger. If the offspring gets too little to eat, they will become bleacher over time. Apples, carrots, onions, frogs and small rodents are on the menu. Foxes are not spared either.
Shelter graphics
The entire game is colored in pastel colors. With textures and edgy hints, you recognize the nature around you. However, this also reduces the sense of imminent threat. That doesn't really help with the bond with the little badgers.
The Badger Children
The badger children are always your immediate companion. They are eaten, can drown or starve. You always have to take care of them. In addition, the children behave exactly the same way. They bring no individuality with them.
Conclusion on Shelter
Shelter is wilderness and empathizing with the badger and his children. How does he manage to survive in nature? Unfortunately, the graphics don't manage to emotionally bind you to the little badger kids. That doesn't really bring much emotionality with it. The little ones lack character and communication. The gameplay seems repetitive and inflexible. Many interactions with the environment are not possible at all. The game is not infinitely long and the game may be something for friends of a survival simulation. However, you should not expect too much from Shelter.
