The third part of Resident Evil Nemesis, the zombie apocalypse by Capcom, was released in 1993. The third part draws on Jill Valentine from the first part. Resident Evil Nemesis begins a month and a half after the events of the first part.
Resident Evil 3
Resident Evil 3: Nemesis was released in Japan under the title Biohazard 3: Last Escape (Baiohazādo 3: Last Escape - Resident evil 3 LAST ESCAPE).
Jill Valentine in Raccoon City
At the beginning you take on the character Jill Valentine. She quit her job after the events in the manor house and wants nothing more to do with "Umbrella". She lives secluded in Raccoon City. However, cruel murders and the disappearance of people disturb their seclusion. Before you know it, Raccoon City is overrun by zombies and the T-Virus is raging in the city. Your goal is to flee the city as Jill.
The control
The controls correspond to the first and second Resident Evil part. Climbing stairs is easier compared to the first two parts. Your character does not automatically climb the stairs, but via the controls. The undead are no longer stopped by stairs.
Nemesis
Resident Evil 3 is all about the monster Nemesis, a powerful bioweapon from the Umbrella Corporation. This monster is not as easy to stop as the zombies and you always have to flee quickly when he shows up. He carries a rocket launcher on his shoulders, which makes him particularly dangerous.
The eternal ammunition problem
If you try to mess with him, your ammunition will run out relatively quickly, which is tight as in the other two parts. Instead, you'll often find gun powder that you can convert into ammunition. But even this is not often found in the game. If you do not use your opportunities to win ammunition, you will lose your life to the zombies faster than you can watch. The number of undead is higher in Nemesis than in the other parts.
Various possibilities
In some situations you can make decisions. You will be shown your alternative options. You often make urgent decisions when the nemesis monster is around you. That's why you don't have a lot of time to make your choice. Within a time limit, Nemesis will reach you and it's game over. Depending on the decision, the plot changes.
Difficulty levels
In Resident Evil you have the choice between two levels of difficulty. Depending on the level of difficulty, ammunition and weapons are available, for example. The easy grade sends you into the zombie war with healing spray and a machine gun. At the severe grade, you have five pistol shots available. The easy level of difficulty provides you with weapons and ammunition more often.
The Resident Evil boxes
Weapons and ammunition can be found in boxes and objects can be placed if necessary. Objects can be taken out of every box at any time and from anywhere. The inventory is very limited, as in Resident Evil 1 and 2. Ten inventory slots are available in easy mode and 8 slots in difficult mode. The shock effects are sown a little less often in Resident Evil Nemesis, as in the second part.
And finally ...
Resident Evil Nemesis is highly recommended for fans of the series. In terms of the story, the third part unfortunately doesn't give much, as the goal is only to escape from the city. Unfortunately, not much is revealed about Nemesis, although this aspect arouses curiosity. The backgrounds are rendered and the sound creates the right scary atmosphere. The shock effects are a bit few and far between. Otherwise, it's a solid Resident Evil piece.
