Pugsley's Scavenger Hunt is an Addams Family SNES game developed by James Higgins that was released in 1993.
Pugsley's Scavenger Hunt
The game is developed by Ocean and Enigma Variations. The game is based on the cartoon. Pugsley's Scavenger Hunt was released for the SNES in February 1993. The release for the Game Boy followed in July and for the Game Boy in August NES.
The history
Wednesday challenges Pugsley, her ugly brother, to find six items. The items are hidden in the family's bizarre home. The game starts in the anteroom of the villa. From there, Pugsley can go through six different doors. There is also a boss fight at the end of each level.
the levels
You can play the first four levels in any order. Many players go up the stairs first, where Pugsley has to cross into a medieval world while Grandma watches him through her crystal ball. You can get to three more levels via a balcony. In the levels you will find secret rooms and shortcuts.
The Gameboy version
Aside from the fact that the game is in black and white, both games are identical. The gameplay works the same. Pugsley jumps on the opponents and dodges them.
The NES version
This game was released for the NES back in 1993. Enigma Variations developed it. Ocean Software released it. The plot is identical to the other variants of the game. Just like in the later variants, you have to save your family.
Here you can clearly see the difference to the SNES variant, which has definitely been further developed. What is definitely missing in the NES version is the music. One problem, for example, is the final boss, who can hardly be defeated at all. In addition, there is the control, which is not optimal. Pugsley's face is also irritating (where the hell are his eyes? - This question also relates to the Gameboy variant)
Conclusion
Pugsley's Scavenger Hunt is a fun jump and run game. With six levels, the game is relatively small. However, the level of difficulty is a bit higher. If you are looking for a jump & run challenge, you can't go wrong with the game.
