Petit Depotto (プチデポット) is a small Japanese developer based in Nagoya, consisting of only four members. Her most popular title is Gnosia.
These include: Toru Kawakatsu, also known as:
- Mezukare (Producer and Director),
- Shigoto (programmer and scenario writer)
- Kotori (graphic designer and illustrator)
- Q Flavor (Composer)
- The team first started out as a doujin group in the early 2000s called Globule, where they set about developing adventure games themselves, including a popular yet unfinished title called Hyakuiro Megane: Kalos Eidos Skopeo. The group debuted as Petit-Depotto with their release of Unholy Heights for the Xbox 360 in 2012, a simulation game crossed with the tower defense principle. However, they are most famous for their second video game, a social deduction adventure game called Gnosia. The title gained iconic status after releasing for the PlayStation Vita in 2019 and has continued to be well received after porting to the Nintendo Switch in 2020.
You play Gnosia in different rounds. You have to find out who is lying and who is telling the truth. The objective is to filter out the Gnosia. Also, each turn, a Gnosia kills a crew member. This creates a corresponding moment of tension in the game. Similar to a role-playing game, you develop additional character traits in your character. The graphic style is similar to manga. With the origin from Japan, this is not surprising. But the game also scores with an artistic, beautiful graphics. Nevertheless, it brings enough horror elements with it. The game is not recommended for those who are too faint-hearted.
