PC Games has been active since October 1, 1992. It is a computer game magazine, the Computec Media Group from Fürth. The magazine is published once a month on the last Wednesday of the previous month. Their length is around 116-130 pages. In this article I would like to introduce the magazine and its website.
Media of the magazine
The first edition appeared on October 1992 with a 3,5 "floppy disk. A demo version could be found on this. It came with a CD in January 1995. From May 1998 onwards it had a double CD as a supplement. The DVD followed in November 2000 and from July 2003 a double-sided DVD. Since mid-2004, the PC Games Reporter articles have been featured on the DVDs in addition to the normal videos. Traders, game excerpts and developers are presented in interviews. The magazine also reports regularly on events such as the Games Convention.
The magazine's DVDs also regularly feature full versions of games that have also been available on Steam for some time.
The foundation
Initially, Oliver Menne and Thomas Borovskiks acted as editors-in-chief, who took over management in 2000. Florian Stangl and Petra Fröhlich followed in chief editorship from 2000 to June 2001. From March 2004 until the end of 2014, Petra Fröhlich was the sole editor-in-chief.
The website
The website will keep players informed. Current events in the PC games market, updates and mods are presented. Since a merger with the magazines Widescreen and SFT took place in 2015, there are also cinema, DVD and Blu-Ray news, film reviews, as well as trailers and videos.
Headings
PC Games has partly sorted its articles according to consoles. The categories PC, PS, Xbox, Nintendo and Mobile can be found. Games, consoles, hardware as well as newsletters and classic are also divided into news. The game tests are sorted by age and the website also offers tips, videos with trailers and a game database. Of course, there is also information about the current issue of the magazine with the full version it contains. The PC Games are also represented in the social networks. Unfortunately, what I am missing from the articles is still a test of the full versions that are in the current magazine.
Conclusion on PC games
PC Games is a very interesting magazine and the website is also very good. You have now built up a very large game archive with your own rating system. The games are examined and tested very extensively. There are meaningful videos and pictures for the existing game tests. In this sense, it is always worth checking out news & Co. in the gaming area.
