After Dr. Equipped Light Mega Man with new skills, Dr. Light in a capsule under the surface of the earth. As Mega Man X, he was allowed to go into battle in the first part.
Mega Man X2 was developed by Capcom. The original Japanese title is Rockman X2 (Rockman X2). Capcom is a publisher in Japan and North America. In Europe, Laguna Video Games took over the publication.
The Mavericks attack again
The Mavericks of the first part didn't last long. Mega Man X 2 starts with an entry level, like the first part. Here too you end up fighting your first boss before you are sent to the first selection screen. Instead of the normal selection menu, you have a map available that you can use to choose your opponents. Before you enter a level, you can view information about it on the map.
Opponents for Mega Man X have strengths and weaknesses. If Mega Man X defeats an opponent, he receives a weapon from him with which he can more easily defeat another boss. In addition, the villains pepper their levels with lots of traps and abysses that Mega Man X has to overcome. Again, various upgrades for Mega Man X are hidden in the individual levels. If you defeat the first 8 opponents, there will be 4 levels before you can face the big boss.
Not much has changed in the graphics. The levels are very similar to the previous part. Nevertheless, they present themselves graphically very well. The levels are designed to be varied and adapted to the boss.
The controls have stayed the same. Not much has changed here. You control the protagonist with the control pad. With the A button you fire your weapons and with B you jump as much as you can. The L and R buttons allow you to switch weapons.
Mega Man X2 is no longer, not much better, but a bit heavier than the first Mega Man X part. Much can be found from the previous part. Unfortunately, it is not a “new game” in this sense. The music doesn't really stand out and the graphics haven't changed much either. Only 13 levels are waiting to be played through. Still, it is definitely worth a look for fans of Mega Man and Jump & Run games.
