Lord of Ultima is a browser strategy game by Phenomic that has been discontinued. The goal was to become Lord of Ultima. This required managing resources and building an army.
Lord of Ultimate
The browser game was developed by EA Phenomic. It transported the player to a medieval time in which he could build his own cities. The game was free.
After the settlers came Lord of Ultima
The game was a big time waster. The beginning takes place in a city for which buildings should be placed. Lord of Ultima started out similarly to Settlers. However, you had to make sure to have resource fields close to the city, as they were advantageous when playing. Ideally, all production buildings were close to resources. This boosted the productivity of the buildings. The buildings could be upgraded to level 10. The developer of the game was the same as the one who developed Siedler. The principle of settlers was found here again. The landscape dictated the raw material deposits. If the city was surrounded by mountains, there was, for example, a lot of ore for the extraction of raw materials.
The castles
City conquests were only possible with the construction of a castle. Looting was allowed. To do this, the attacker had to deploy a very large army. There was no AI as an opponent, only players.
Object of the game Lord of Ultima
The aim of the game was to become the Lord of Ultima. The player built the cities near shrines that were recognizable on the maps at an early stage. Palaces were upgraded and allies brought bonuses to the troops. The palace could be expanded up to level 80. Whoever managed to fully build the palace became the Lord of Ultima.
Sound effect and music
Sound effects and music adapted to the events. Armies, however, had to be well developed because they decided the outcome of the battles. Different types of troops and siege devices, as well as different types of ships, each had different advantages and disadvantages.
The end
The game closed on 2014 after Phenomic closed in 2013. The rights to the game were transferred to Studio Easy Games. This makes Lord of Ultima another game for the corner of the lost games that the gaming world misses.
