Dive into farm life with Farming Simulator 16. This time with crops and sheep.
Crops in farming simulator 16
The game itself doesn't differ much from its predecessors. As in previous years, Farming Simulator 16 is all about immersing yourself in the rhythm of farm life. You choose which crops you want to grow. You till and plow the fields, sell your crops, and then use the money from those sales to start the cycle over. The only difference this time is that the game also includes livestock.
sheep and wool
In Farming Simulator 16 you get a flock of sheep from which you can sell bales of wool so that you can buy more grain and better farming equipment. Aside from that small addition, FM16 basically gives you everything you would get from either the original Farming Simulator or Farming Simulator 14. That means the controls are relatively minimalist.
High standards
Farming Simulator 16 game is relatively demanding when it comes to plowing and tilling the fields. While in previous games you had some leeway in terms of how straight your line needed to be, this time it seems like the slightest deviation from a rigidly straight path means you're jumping over a tiny piece of land and it's by you requires that you have to drive back to a certain point. That might be realistic, but it's incredibly annoying.
growing plants
However, the more general problem is one of time: time you spend waiting for pretty much anything to happen. You're waiting for crops to grow so you can harvest them, as that's more or less the entire focus of Farming Simulator 16.
The internal game clock
With no control over the speed at which time passes, you're stuck in keeping with the game's internal clock. And while that clock moves a little faster than it does in the real world, that still means you periodically spend a few minutes at the edge of a field, waiting for your crops to grow so you can harvest and sell them. When you plant, you spend more time waiting. Every now and then the monotony is broken by random quests.
Conclusion
The game is no different from its predecessor in this regard. The Farming Simulator franchise hasn't really evolved. The biggest addition is the addition of sheep. Anyone who expects many innovations in Farming Simulator will be disappointed.
