It's round, pink, cute to hug, and hungry to death. No, it's not Jigglypuff, it's Kirby, who throws his blinking shadow ahead.
All on the opponent
You have to have a lot of friends around you in the new Kirby game. Up to three computer-controlled figures accompany you and mow down the opponents who want to make your life hell. This makes the game noticeably easier, which is not necessarily a positive in this case. As a result, the game will not challenge you relatively quickly.
Hop and float
The world through which you jump and float through is held in an extremely cute cuddly look. If an opponent stands in your way, you say it in the manner of a vacuum cleaner and spit towards the next opponent as a bullet. Sometimes you also take on the skills of the opponent characters. Kirby can then spit fire or shoot spiders weaving. Since you always have friends by your side, you can attack as a team. If you greet an opponent warmly, he becomes your friend and fights by your side.
Practical skills
When it comes to teamwork, Kirby must of course not forget his comrades. With the right skills, you will transport them to higher platforms so that they can accompany you there. Your comrades-in-arms also support you in other ways, for example by setting your sword on fire. In that case you attack with powerful flames or with electrifying lightning attacks. You sometimes need these for solving puzzles or finding secret rooms.

Co-op
For example, a friend can join you at any time to play the 6-hour game in co-op mode. If he has to leave quickly, he puts his character on autopilot and disappears. For additional entertainment, there are various mini-games for you and your teammate. Up to four participants can join the fun.
A little too easy
Kirby turned out to be a bit easy as a game in this case. The special skills take up too little space to be really important. Even the struggles have little to say. One or the other well-known character from older Kirby games also makes an appearance here.
And the story?
Unfortunately, the story doesn't reveal much. Dark hearts are raining from the sky and Kirby tries to get to the bottom of what has happened. He fights some monsters and is influenced by the heart himself. In a more positive sense, however. From this moment on, Kirby can pull his enemies on his side.
Colorful world
the game is completely cartoon style. In the Background you see the idyllic nature, old gnarled trees or rugged mountains. The monsters seem far too cute to really want to harm them. The representation of the elements can be seen. Some backgrounds on the horizon are a little too blurry. The resolution is 720 pixels.
Conclusion
Kirby Star Allies is aimed at beginners and it should be noted. Even younger audiences are sometimes under-challenged here. The game itself is a lot of fun, especially as a cooperative jump and run game. Cuddly, cute characters, great animations definitely invite you to play. What should be criticized, however, is the low level of difficulty of the game. At least a selection of different levels of difficulty would have been desirable. The importance of Kirby's special abilities could have been better developed. The end bosses are sometimes too easy to defeat. The puzzles are just too easy at one point or another. For Kirby fans and friends of the cuddle or jump and run generation, you can take advantage of the peace of mind. However, if you are looking for a difficult, demanding jump and run, this is the wrong place.
