Featuring Endless Space by the Amplitude Studios you colonize space again and engage in strategic battles.
the races
As in the first part, the game offers eight ready-made races, each with their own characteristics. The Sophons, with their strength in technology, are a peaceful people. The cravers are insectoids that follow their urge to conquer. The people becomes a monarchy, in the form of large corporations. The respective ruff can colonize different planets. There are many different climatic conditions, such as planets made of water or lava.
Research
The technology is represented in the form of a large wheel with five ranks. There's business, science, development, and the military. In the area of developing countries, for example, new technologies for ships. The tutorial is not very beginner-friendly, as in the first part.
The exploration
With the different technologies and research opportunities, specialization in core technologies is inevitable. This is the only way to ensure your survival. These core technologies should be based on the strengths of the people to do so. You have to leave your home world and explore the galaxy.
Politics
You collide the worlds with your settler ships and set up outposts. These need to be protected from competitors and pirates. A founded colony is shown in color with the area of influence indicated. This also increases your influence per round. In addition, there is the aspect of politics in the game. You have different factions, such as militarists or pacifists. They each want to learn about power in the empire. An election is therefore held every few years. The technology you are researching also supports certain factions. This ensures appropriate laws that can be enacted.
Conclusion
Endless Space 2 nothing new with it. There is now a political system, but it is simply not very clear. It roughly corresponds to its predecessor, with difficulties for beginners, since the lack of tutorials does not exactly make it easier to get started. So this game is good, but not outstanding and would have had more potential for expansion.
