The first part of the settlers is a classic by Blue Byte. The bustling little bulbous noses have conquered many PCs. In 1993 the first settler game appeared.
Settling for Beginners
The economic simulation first appeared for the Amiga. The building strategy game lets you shape your empire. Farming, animal husbandry and fishing form the basis of your society. With the game, Blue Byte created a masterpiece in computer game history.
Your economy in The Settlers
You let the settlers cut trees and build mines to extract minerals. With these you make weapons and tools and you need them to defend yourself. Enemy peoples will attack you when you meet them. In battle you expand your land and gain more resources.
The missions
In The Settlers you have to build a functioning settlement and defend yourself against enemy settlers or defeat them. That sounds easier than it is. In particular, you need a well-thriving economy and you have to adapt to a shortage of raw materials. 30 missions challenge you in the game. 20 professions are available to you. You can lead 5 types of knights into battle. The scenarios in the classic are computer generated.
castles for victory
In order to win you need castles and barracks that you occupy with soldiers. They will defend your land or attack your opponents when you command them to. For well-trained soldiers you need appropriate barracks, which also need to be supplied. It all starts with the lumberjacks, the sawmill, the quarry and the food production.
The graphic
For its time, the settlers are lovingly designed and detailed. This is already evident in the opening sequence of the game, which introduces you to the events.
Conclusion
If you like to play, you should definitely have played Siedler. It is a lot of fun to give orders to the little wokers. Up to 2 players can compete against each other.
