The Christmas Accident is a poem about the misfortune that befalls Santa Claus.
The Christmas Accident
24:XNUMX on Christmas Eve
Can you hear the noise outside?
A curse penetrates the darkness
About misfortune, bad luck and suffering.
Then the doorbell rings,
Woman and man come down.
They look at him in disbelief
The battered Santa Claus.
"Sorry to disturb you at such a late hour,
But I have good reason for that.
The runners of my sledge are broken,
I would like to call emergency services.
Can I make a quick phone call?
This fall is a disaster!”
Outside, no snow on Christmas Eve,
What sled brought him here?
The woman looks out into the garden.
What a picture: She screams: "Oh, what a horror!
He's totally gone! I can't believe it!
My beautiful plum tree!”
All reindeer, stare at them,
You're standing in front of Santa's sleigh.
This hangs crooked and crooked,
Around with bag and baggage in the plum tree.
"Is that you imp? I told you,
You asked me extra!
It had to be the cheap one
I fell into the plum tree!
I didn't even deliver half!
What's next, can you tell me?"
"Okay, okay, but please hurry up,
I have to finish before it gets light."
Santa Claus thanks before leaving
Sorry it's so late.
He looks at the clock for a moment:
"He should be here soon, where is he?"
Then he eagerly climbs into the tree,
The couple can hardly believe their eyes
He takes the sack and cheerfully throws it,
Down into the bed of roses.
Already comes flying down from the sky,
in a big arc,
A second sleigh with a team of reindeer,
That can land in front of Santa Claus.
The sack is stowed, Santa Claus drives,
Into the night, as it is taught.
Meanwhile the elves, with magic from the tree,
Remove the slide, like in a dream.
The tree is healed with little effort,
We also linger briefly over the roses.
The couple doesn't say a word, they turn around,
go to bed very still and silent.
The couple sits at breakfast
Still a little quiet and devout there:
"Honey, you missed the cumin at dinner,
it was probably the stomach, I had a strange dream.”
Santa Claus and his misfortunes
In some of my poems, Santa Claus doesn't have much luck. Rather, he has to suffer under various circumstances and has a lot to do to make everything turn out well. The Christmas Accident is one of the “Unhappiness Poems”. In Christmas Accident, Santa Claus builds a sleigh accident in the middle of the tree. This happens to him in the middle of delivering gifts. Only the elves can repair the damage from the Christmas accident.
