The first ray of sunshine is a little fairy tale I made up.
The first ray of sunshine
Once upon a time there was a ray of sunshine
To whom the sun once commanded:
"Shines to the earth,
so that it may come to her days!
No one has awakened down there yet!
Just the cold, rain and night.”
The sunbeam, inconspicuously small,
Shined down as warm sunshine.
He got stronger with time
Big, bright, warm and wide.
But no matter what he did, nothing happened
no one he saw on earth
The awakened one and greeted him there,
In that cold, lonely place.
At first he seemed very gentle, so as not to frighten anyone,
Nobody let him wake them up.
Nothing happened! Anger seized him!
He was alone... Nothing would go well...
In anger, the earth burned black,
No life he recognized anywhere.
Disappointed, he wanted to disappear
There he met together with the four winds.
"Why little ray of sunshine do you want to go?
Don't you want to see life arise?"
"Life doesn't come out for me.
I feel like a lonely fool
That I thought I'd find joy
When you receive my warmth."
The four winds looked at him:
"You know that life cannot arise,
when you get your sunshine
On earth you throw all alone!
We send you with our blessing,
Our friend the good rain."
The rain poured down on the earth,
Over and over again.
With a spark of hope right now
came the sunbeam.
After a seemingly endless time
Was it then:
shot out of the ground in greeting,
A green, fresh, lively sprout.
He greeted after a short time, full of kindness,
The ray of sunshine, with brightly colored blooms.”
The more joy the ray felt,
The more he warmed the land
so that one soon saw
The beginning of the first forest.
