Sherlock Holmes: The Mummy's Secret is one of a series of Sherlock Holmes games for the PC. Publishing took over Daedalic. The game was released in 2002 for Windows and Nintendo DS.
Sherlock Holmes and the Mystery of the Mummy in London
The story takes place in London in 1899. The father of Elisabeth Montcalfe, an Egyptologist and collector, has been missing for 6 months. Allegedly he chose to commit suicide by fire. However, Elisabeth does not believe in it. Sherlock Holmes begins to investigate the lord's old mansion and investigate the death.

The game is a first person adventure that is divided into 5 chapters. The level of difficulty can be selected. You take on the role of Sherlock Holmes, who is supposed to solve this case without Doctor Wurzen. There is an introduction and you will be transferred to Montcalife Castle. There it is his job to solve various puzzles in order to find the truth in itself. This savior above all puzzles, combining found objects or moving puzzles. However, with some puzzles you get the impression that they have nothing to do with the story.
The game's graphics look washed out and there are no animations. The only exception are a few cutscenes in the game. The video sequences have better graphics. Sherlock Holmes' voice was very well emphasized, but the other characters leave a lot to be desired. The music is well done with an oriental touch. Other sound effects are more limited Background. The game is controlled with the mouse.

Conclusion
The secret of the mummy has numerous weaknesses that are not conducive to the game. The story is not convincing and there is no real Holmes atmosphere in the game. You only find them at the end, at the end of the credits. The graphics are not convincing, just like the sound and the puzzles. Anyone interested in solving a few incoherent puzzles can take a look here. Otherwise it's: hands off!
