Cyberun is a ZX Spectrum video game reportedly developed by Ultimate Play the Game and published by US Gold in 1986. Although it is not part of the Jetman series, it has similarities with Jetpac in that the player has to construct his spaceship out of parts. Then look for resources and power ups. Unlike other Ultimate titles, Cyberun was not written by the partnership of Tim and Chris Stamper.
The player controls a spaceship that is trapped on a planet where hostile aliens live. The goal is to upgrade the spaceship with parts scattered around the planet and to dismantle a valuable element called "Cybernite". The atmosphere above Earth is populated by flying aliens and clouds that drain the acid and damage the ship's shields. The ship needs fuel to fly, and once exhausted it will jump over the bottom of the planet and unable to climb. A similar enemy ship is also on the planet, trying to dismantle the Cybernite in front of the player. Fuel can be replenished by tankers on the planet's surface, but damaged shields cannot be repaired. The player has to venture into caves below the surface to mine the cybernite. This is only possible if the ship has been upgraded with a mine laser. As soon as enough cybernite has been collected, the player can flee to the next planet in the Zebarema system. Reception The game was well received by the critics. Crash gave it a 90% Crash Smash and Your Spectrum 8/10, describing the game as a "classic that picks up the pieces and shoots them up with brilliant graphics."
