Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty is the first and only planned expansion for the developer's role-playing game Cyberpunk 2077 CD Project Red. The expansion is currently in final production and is expected to be released in 2023, although no exact date has been set yet. CD Project Red plans to release more information in June 2023
Price and availability
Phantom Liberty will be a paid expansion, although the exact price is not yet known. However, it is expected to be below that of a full game as this is in line with the development team's usual pricing philosophy. The expansion will only be available for PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X as the studio has dropped support for the PS4 and Xbox One.
plot and game world
The expansion takes players to a new district of Night City. The exact location is still unknown, but speculation is that it could be the Pacifica Combat Zone, one of the most dangerous parts of the city. The storyline will include elements of espionage and survival, and players will work alongside new characters such as Solomon Reed, an FIA agent for NUSA, played by Idris Elba.
characters
In addition to introducing new characters, some familiar faces will also return. Keanu Reeves has confirmed that he will reprise his role as Johnny in the expansion.
Music
The expansion will also feature new music from members of the Cyberpunk 2077community via new radio station 89.7 Growl FM hosted by influencer Sasha Grey.
Future projects
While CD Projekt Red is working on Phantom Liberty, other parts of the studio are already in pre-production for The Witcher 4 and working on other projects including Cyberpunk Orion, a sequel to Cyberpunk 2077, and Project Hadar, a new IP outside of the Witcher and Cyberpunk franchises.
