Captain Planet and the Planeteers is based on the animated TV series of the same name that ran in 1990. While looking like a standard superhero, Captain Planet and the Planeteers had a strong environmental message in every episode. Respect and care for the planet should be encouraged.
Captain Planet and the Planeteers save Earth
Our world is in danger. Gaia, the spirit of the earth, can no longer endure the horrible destruction that is afflicting our planet. She needs help. From the Island of Hope, she creates 5 magic rings that are spread around the world. Any planeteer that accepts a ring inherits its elemental powers. The five rings represent: earth, fire, wind, water and heart. When they combine their rings, Captain Planet is summoned.
The attacks
Each of the elemental powers is associated with a different type of attack. Fire seems to be the strongest of them, as many only work at very short ranges. But don't think that this game is about choosing the right weapon. Your biggest challenge will be survival!
The level of difficulty
Captain Planet and the Planeteers gives you the opportunity to drive multiple vehicles and play as the captain yourself. This game is very difficult. Part of the difficulty is pure mechanics. You'll often encounter an onslaught of enemies that you'll need to return fire to while dodging. It can get pretty hectic. In most games you try to distance yourself from damage. That's not always possible in Captain Planet and the Planeteers. Very often you have to dodge dangers to avoid them. Likewise, many weapons are only effective at close range.
the levels
There are 5 levels to master. Unlike the early 8-bit days when many games were fairly easy to learn over time, here are some strategies you might never realize without the help of the instructions. The game offers vivid colors and graphics and offers good control. Each level brings new challenges that can be relatively difficult.
Conclusion
Mindscape's Captain Planet and the Planeteers takes on a serious tone to save the environment and the planet. The level of difficulty is too high for younger players. However, if you are looking for challenging action with an environmental message, this is the game for you.
