Control a bee on the NESto collect honey and avoid enemies that will make your life difficult.
Bees on the NES
In Bee 52, you fly through 24 levels collecting honey from flowers blooming in gardens, swamps and people's homes while dodging cruel spiders, hungry ants and vicious dragonflies. As you complete each level, the developers of Game Genie will place more and more obstacles in your way. The difficulty of the game is high because you will die if you hit it.
The troubles of Bee 52
Unfortunately, Bee 52 suffers from a number of flaws that make it another monotonous game. One of the most problematic aspects of the game is the controls and movement of your character: the bee. Bee is unresponsive to the D-Pad and takes time to gain speed and fly, so it takes time for it to move faster. If Bee encounters an obstacle, she will be severely slowed down. This forces you to restart and accelerate to regain speed, which takes more time than it should. With enemies flying around, this is a really annoying aspect, especially when you hit an obstacle and get knocked back by an enemy.
The graphic
Important factors in games like this are bright, vibrant colors and graphics, diverse, well-structured levels, and catchy music that will get your heart pumping as you dodge and fly to the end of the game. The first level features bright colors and textures that fill the world of Bee. Small details such as different types of flowers, times of day and the vegetation of a lake make the game fun. However, it gets boring pretty quickly when you find out that there are at most three different levels in the game, everything else being equal. Flying through the same three levels over and over again, with only slight differences, takes away from the fun of this game. There is also no music in the levels. It's a shame because the first two tracks on the title screen were great and catchy.
Conclusion on Bee 52
Overall, Bee 52 could have been a really fun game. It has the graphics and concept to go far in the world it was in. However, lack of variety and unresponsive controls detract from the fun factor, which is what the game is all about here. Playing through the first level is fun, but everything else is the same.
