Aoki Ookami to Shiroki Mejika - Genghis Khan
It is another part of the historical simulation series. Like the previous part, the game was only released in Japan. The game was developed by Koei in 1987. This is a turn-based strategy game. It's the second part of the series.
The game lets you follow the life of Genghis Khan or his rivals. You must arrange marriages, secure succession, appoint family members to government posts, and fight to conquer the old world. You train soldiers and with armies you try to conquer the countries from England to Japan.
The game modes
The game presents two game modes. The first is the Mongol conquest in 1175 AD. It begins in single player mode. You are taking control of Lord Temujin and have to conquer the country by keeping the economy stable and your armies ready to attack other countries.
The second part is the World Conquest, which begins its beginning in 1206 AD. 1-4 players can be active here. You can choose from rulers such as Genghis Khan for the Mongols, Alexios I for Byzantium, Richard for England and Yoritomo for Japan. Each player chooses the values of the leader himself. Then the game begins. You can train troops, buy certain products or recruit soldiers. In the game you have the option of signing a peace treaty or waging war. After each player has planned his moves, there are changes based on the decisions and the cycle starts all over again. The seasons determine when troops have to be paid or when the farmers gather their crops and the food is distributed.
Conclusion
For his age, the game is not an easy simulation. Of course, such demands pose a challenge for some, as resource management is also the top priority and decisions have to be made on the basis of this. If you want to dive into the early strategy games, you can take a look.
