Phoenix Wright is Khura'in and faces an entirely different jurisdiction. Ace Attorney - Spirit of Justice is set in the land of Khura'in.
Ace Attorney - Spirit of Justice
Phoenix's former assistant Maya Fey lives in the country of Khura'in. He wants to visit her and without further ado sees himself again in court, where he has to defend a young monk who is accused of murder. Unfortunately, lawyers are not very well respected in the country. The judgment that hits the accused also overtakes the defending lawyer. That means: The death penalty awaits Phoenix and his client if he cannot prove the monk's innocence.
The seances
So nobody in this country wants to be a lawyer. Judgments are made on the basis of seances held by the medium Rayfa Padma Khura'in. He shows the last seconds in the life of the victim in a water mirror and thus brings about the judgments. Phoenix has to counter this first.
The characters
Within the plot you switch between Phoenix, Apollo and Athena. The counterparts are Apollo and Athena, who are confronted in San Francisco with the legal opinion of Khura'in. Because the new public prosecutor there comes from the country.
Gameplay
In terms of play, nothing changes much in this part. There is the classic investigate-the-crime-scene-and-speak-to-witness-principle, which has also made the other parts successful. With evidence you entangle the witnesses in their contradictions and expose their lies in order to get your client free.
Special Abilities
The skills with which you can look for fingerprints, read emotions or examine the body language of the witnesses are part of the game again. The water level of the séances brings new elements, because you see what the victim saw, smelled and felt last.
Conclusion
Ace Attorney - Spirit of Justice is a successful sequel. The well-known recipe for success still works. New elements make the game more interesting. It's a game that will keep you hooked, even if you're not a huge court fanatic. This part is also a definitive game recommendation.
