4 Nin Shougi is a shogi game for Super Famicom based on a four player variant of the game. Each player starts on one side of the board and has fewer checkers than in the standard two-player game. Each side has its king, a rook, two gold generals, two silver generals, and three pawns. Players have the ability to temporarily team up with other players to knock others out of the game.
The modes of 4 Nin Shougi
The game features two display modes: one that depicts the pieces as their traditional shogi tiles, and another that turns them into sprites that have animations as they move across the board or hit pieces. The player can also choose between eight characters for his computer opponents, four of which are non-human: a chimpanzee, a Shiba Inu, a cat and a tentacled alien.
The game came out for the SNES system.
