300 Spartans make it 480 BC To stop the Persian onslaught. With the game you can get into the fray.
300 the movie
Frank Miller created the comic about the 300 Spartans. King Leonidas led the 300 Spartans in the fight against the Persian warriors. The invaders want to march in over a pass in the Kallidromos Mountains. The comic is the template for the film of the same name.
The game
The game was released for the PSP. You have to defeat the opponents in different levels. Your opponents are soldiers of the Persian army. Depending on the opponent, you adapt your combat strategy. Your character's attacks are light and heavy blows with sword and shield. Increasingly they knock down Persians or kill them entirely. The camera zooms in on this. The combos are also well staged. You can acquire more powerful weapons by using points that you get for victories.

The fights
The fights themselves are tactical and demanding. The fights are not for the faint of heart. When using certain strategies, such as advancing as a phalanx or cautiously sneaking up on, the impression of mini-games comes through. That could have been designed more innovatively. Leonidas has special abilities, such as stronger slamming, healing of wounds or better armor. In order for you to be able to use the special skills, the anger bar must be filled by Leonidas. As long as this is not filled, bosses are invulnerable. If the anger bar is full, the bosses are vulnerable. Some camera pans in the game are very disadvantageous.

The graphic
300 are only available to PSP owners. The opening sequence is inspired by the comic. The comic is in English. You move through an environment with little detail, invisible walls and not particularly beautifully designed buildings. Your opponents are soldiers with swords, spears and shields. Other opponents come from mythology or are hybrid figures. The sound of the game is composed of orchestral and rock music. In the main menu there are movie scenes for viewing and interviews.
Conclusion
The Collision Studios, which developed 300, offer a lot with 300. Combos, weapons, special attacks, equipment and combos make 300 a game that can be easily slid in between. Sometimes the levels are too linear and monotonous. The boss encounters offer little variety. The setting is not particularly beautiful. The music is outstandingly good for that. The game is therefore a partial game recommendation.
