Cruella De Vil blames pets for their toys failing to sell. So she collects all of the pets in town. All? No! Zero point and domino went by the rag and threw her right through the bill.
102 Dalmatiner
The game was released for the Playstation, Sega Dreamcast and the PC. 16 levels in 3D London await you. You visit the park, roam the streets, visit Big Ben, continue to the farm until you reach the toy factory. In each level, Cruella De Vil holds 6 puppies prisoner, which you have to rescue.
Cruella De Vil is back
The nasty millionaire Cruella De Vil owns a toy factory. Your toys won't sell. She blames the children's pets for this. They spend all their pocket money on animal products. So she programs her toys to have the pets kidnapped. Only zero point and domino are spared. De Vil's diabolical plan? She wants to transform all pets into toys with a special glaze and sell them.
For the introduction
Before starting the game, you can choose whether you want to start with the correct game or with a mini-game. Alternatively, there is a picture book that you can only unlock in the course of the game. Once you've decided on your option, you start.
On four paws
After an introductory intro, you take control of Nullpunkt or Domino. Which of the two dogs you choose is up to you. There are no differences. As a puppy you can bark and briefly stop opposing toys, romp around, so do a somersault to open boxes, sniff and dig.
The search for the captured siblings
You walk the streets of London in search of your siblings. You can find them in a wide variety of places, such as Regent's Park, Piccadilly or Big Ben. Your opponents are the programmed toys from Cruella. Horace and Jasper don't make the rescue operation any easier for you either. Not to be forgotten is the fur trader Le Pelt. Your human opponents are not as easily stopped as the toys. The only way to disable them is to trap them.
Animal helpers
The two pups have support. The other animals will help you with tips and advice. Sometimes they ask for a favor.
Graphics and sound
The animations are flowing, the surroundings and characters are reproduced in great detail. The synchronization is very well done, the dialogues have all been synchronized, which makes the game atmospheric and entertaining. Every now and then you discover a small graphic error, but it doesn't really matter. The London locations are not shown down to the last detail, but they are clearly recognizable.
Sticker hunt
Stickers are hidden in various places in the London of 102 Dalmatians. If you have collected them all together, a picture will be activated in the picture book. The mini-games can be played in multiplayer. There is definitely an incentive to search for stickers.
Conclusion
Flowing animations, beautiful graphics and good synchronization make 102 Dalmatians an entertaining PS1 experience. 102 Dalmatians as a jump and run game for the PS1 is designed for a young audience. This can be seen on the one hand in the graphics, but also in the very simple controls and the easy opponents. The puzzles are by no means nuts, but they encourage children to explore. The levels are spacious and invite you to explore. Traps are quickly discovered and avoided. The bosses are also easy to defeat. A wonderful game for primary school children. (Advertising)
